.TOOMBS, Charles E., Sr., 79, of Woodford, passed away on November 18, 2016. He was preceded in death by his son, Tim Toombs. He is survived by his wife, Lorene Toombs; children, C. Edward Toombs, Jr. and Michael W. Toombs; and sisters, Priscilla and Carolyn. Charles worked for Fruit Growers Express for over 30 years and RF&P for 10 years. He retired from CSX. Charles was a member of County Line Baptist Church. He was an avid farmer, fisherman, and he loved to ride his tractor. The family will receive friends from 5-8 PM on Monday, November 21, 2016 at the Nelsen Funeral Home, Reid Chapel, 412 S. Washington Hwy., Ashland, VA 23005. A service will take place at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at County Line Baptist Church, Ruther Glen, VA.
