Born July 25, 1996 in Napa, CA, Claire was the eighth child of Neil and Donna Wenzel. Claire spent her early childhood in California before the family relocated to Montpelier, VA. She graduated from Patrick Henry High School.
Claire had an insatiable love of life, she was unwavering in her commitment to being a good friend and always getting everyone to laugh. To tell Claire she was funny was the ultimate compliment. No matter the time or place she was always thinking of ways to interject her humor. She had a large repertoire of karaoke songs that she was ready to preform at a moment’s notice. No one could match Claire’s energy and she was always the life of the party. Claire’s love for God was so sincere that even when things might have seemed hopeless, for Claire, they never were because as she always said, “God’s got me” and we know he does.
Claire was the consummate host and was happiest working with and celebrating with people. In her career she worked at several restaurants in both Pennsylvania and Virginia. She had dreams of selling real estate and we believe she would have been unstoppable.
She is preceded in death by her father Neil Wenzel, brother Luke Wenzel and paternal grandparents Lee and Barbara Wenzel.
She is survived by her mother Donna Wenzel, her siblings Nicholas Pfaff, Mary Brown, Katherine, John, Lee, Mark, Jacob, Teresa, Emily and Joseph Wenzel, her maternal grandparents Edward and Joan Benkowski, niece Gabrielle Brown and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
