Claudine Carrier Gibson

Claudine “Dean” Carrier Gibson, age 77, of Beaverdam, Virginia, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 29, 2025, surrounded by her family. She was born in Possum Creek, Tennessee, to the late Claude Andrew Carrier and Mary Elizabeth Shaffer Carrier.

She is survived by her devoted and loving husband of 56 years, Sanford Carlton Gibson. She was a cherished mother to Angie Hamilton (Steve), Ginger Johnson (Bill), and Kimberly Heath. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Brooke, Brian, Bridget, and Brock Hamilton; Tommy (Candace) and Trevor Johnson; Carson and Hudson Heath.

She will also be remembered by her sisters Margaret Lloyd (Steve), Nell Kelley (Earl), and Helen Slayton (David), along with many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

Claudine was a dedicated homemaker who poured her heart into caring for her family. She found joy in gardening, relaxing while watching Westerns, and most of all spending time with her children and grandchildren.

The family wishes to thank Dean’s niece, Tina Hensley, for assisting in her loving care during her final days.

Relatives and friends are invited to Dean’s visitation at Nelson Funeral Home- Reid Chapel, located at 412 S. Washington Hwy, Ashland, VA 23005, on January 12, 2026, from 10 am to 11 am. A Celebration of Life will follow at the same location at 11 am.
