He met his wife, Ruth Carey Bragg, while in college, and together they became parents to Jennifer Bragg Jones (Jon), Julia Elizabeth Bragg, and Johanna Bragg Midgett. His three girls were his pride and joy, and he later took on the role of “Pop” to his five amazing grandchildren, Jared Wesley Jones, Jaelyn Elaine Jones, Olivia Jane Midgett, Luke Anderson Sheppard, and Mason Alan Midgett. Clyde is survived by his children, grandchildren, and his younger sister Debbie Bragg Newcomb (David). Debbie was so special to Clyde, and she was an ever-present source of support. He also leaves behind his beloved aunt, Shirley Smith O’Neill.
Clyde was preceded in death by his wife Ruth, his mother and father, Betty Bragg and Clyde Bragg, Sr., and his uncle William Smith. After marrying Ruth at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, he became an active member of the church.
Clyde graduated from Benedictine High School in 1961 and continued his education at the Virginia Military Institute. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering in 1965. Like many Keydets, he was a proud alumnus who told stories of his VMI days every chance he could. In 1975, he received his Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University.
