

She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Lucy Stanley; sisters, Helen Davis, Lucy Harris, Myrtle Askew and Betty Stanley; and former husband, Martin Payne.
Florence loved spending time with her family, going shopping, and was a lifetime member of St. Peter's United Methodist Church.
After retiring, during her spare time, she worked as a cafeteria helper at South Anna Elementary School.
She is survived by her children, Beverly Hall (Donnie) and Michelle Gilman (Howard); grandchildren, Daryl Hall, Travis Hall (Megan), Ben Gilman, Ema Gilman, and Luc Gilman; great-grandchild Nelson Hall; siblings, Benjamin Stanley, Elsie Stanley, Viola Stanley, and Douglas Stanley; dear friends, Eula Mae Stanley, Shirley Perkins, and Elsie Hendrick; and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 1:30pm to 2:30pm on Friday, September 9, 2022 at St. Peter's United Methodist Church, 15599 Mountain Rd., Montpelier, VA where a service will begin at 2:30pm. Graveside will follow at St. Peter's United Methodist Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Peter's United Methodist Church in Florence Ann's honor.
