When I was in kindergarten one day I was really upset— I asked Mrs. Wingfield for a hug and she let me crawl into her lap and lay my head on her chest until my mother arrived. Its one of fondest and most treasured memories and I still think of it often—Thank you Mrs. Wingfield, you shared your love and made me want to be a better person and are the inspiration that made me want to teach kindergarten and Sunday school. Rest In Peace; you truly are a beautiful person and a wonderful soul, you were a sincere blessing to me. I find solace in knowing your reward in heaven is tenfold more than I can even imagine. 😇 🕊

Mrs. Wingfield was a friendly face to me during my years at Henry Clay, always, always smiling. She was a faithful and fierce supporter of her kids when we were at Liberty and Patrick Henry. I feel like she was in the stands for every activity I ever attended! Every single student in Julie, Jay, or Jan's class knew her and she was a team mama to all of us, as well as a shining example of how a family should support one another. I hope the love and comfort she shared with so many students over so many years will be returned twicefold to her family in this time of loss.

Gayle was such a special person.  I enjoyed working with her in Sunday School, going to high school football games when our kids were young, shopping with her, and spending time with her.  She always had a smile on her face and a kind word for everyone.  She was loved by everyone and will be missed.  Sending prayers to her family and friends.  Debby Davis

May God hold you close, whether family or friend. Gayle could light up a room with her positive attitude and beautiful smile. It does make me grin just a little to think about what a good time Gayle and Damon must be having with Jesus and all of the saints. ❤️

Gayle you were my friend and I cherish fun times with you. I often think of your contagious laugh on our OCC trip and you driving the bus on the race track looking at Christmas lights. I will miss you at church and in the choir.  You are with our Lord now with a complete new body.

I will never forget her getting me and jan to climb the hay on that huge rollback thing to cover it before a storm and her laughing at us as we kept falling down but then encouraging us to" get back u can do it" she said then a "hurry hurry storms coming " she was also a very kind volunteer at the school with my two oldest always being so kind to them and saying hi everyday so sweet and such a one of a kind hard working and lovely lady she will be missed by many and never replaced there is only one like her praying for all the family and especially for julie jay and my girl jan love to you all

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Alexander Hall and Helen Fetty Hall. Gayle is survived by her children, Julie, Jay, and Jan; grandchildren, Joel Wingfield and Alexis Gibson (M.J.); sisters, Linda Six (Leroy) and Janet Hale (Johnny), fur-baby, Willow; and many nieces and nephews.
