JOHNSON, Gloria Jean, 66, of Ashland, passed away on September 4, 2016. She was preceded in death by her parents, Gloria Mae and William Ware, Sr. She is survived by her four children, Amy Rice and spouse, Scotty, Earl Johnson, Jr., Jamy Dempsey and spouse, Jimmy, and Melissa Johnson and spouse, Brian Roth; her children’s father and life-long companion, Earl Johnson, Sr; four grandchildren, Jason Kellerhalls, Jordyn Roth, Marissa Roth, and Brison Roth; three sisters, Dorothy O’Connor, Linda Pitman, and Brenda Henshaw; one brother, Bill “Bubba” Ware; and numerous nieces and nephews. Jean was a very loving, caring, and compassionate mother and grandmother. She was a friend to everyone. She was an avid animal lover. The family will receive friends from 2-4pm and 6-8pm on Thursday, September 8, 2016 at the Nelsen Funeral Home, Reid Chapel, 412 S. Washington Hwy., Ashland, VA 23005, where services will take place at 11am on Friday, September 9, 2016. Interment will be at Roselawn Memory Gardens.
