

Helen (Jeannie) Virginia Madison was born on July 20, 1933 and passed away on December 23, 2015. She was preceded in death by her husband of almost 60 years, Alvin D. Madison and two brothers, Duncan L. Warren and Richard L. Warren. She is survived by her two daughters, Delores M. Allen and Janet M. Hall; two granddaughters, Jennifer Lynn Hall and Julie Marie Pulling (Ray); four great-grandchildren, Derek, Kasey, Jeremy and Colton; and one great-great granddaughter, Sophia. Helen is also survived by two brothers, Henry F. Warren (Debra) and Thomas E. Warren (Dorothea); two sisters, Elizabeth Clayton and Catherine Russell; and two very special friends Audrey Roberts and Sharon Mays.
Helen was born in Georgia and came to Virginia when she was seven years old. She attended St. Patrick’s High School. She married Alvin in 1951 and had two daughters. She worked at Thalhimer’s Department Store in downtown Richmond for 14 years. In 1970, she went to work for the Virginia Department of Taxation where she was employed for over 30 years.
Helen loved life and she loved her family. She always had the biggest heart and was always ready to help anyone in need. She will be truly missed by many and she will live on in our hearts forever.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, December 27, 2015 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. and 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Nelsen Funeral Home, 412 S. Washington Highway, Ashland, VA 23005, where a funeral service will be held on Monday, December 28, 2015 at 2:00p.m. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
