MILLS, Joyce Zirk, 69, of Ashland, passed away on January 24, 2016. She is survived by her husband, Willie Mills; children, Jessica Reed and Megan Barling-Thrift; grandchildren, Kyle Jacobs, Mariah Joy Barling, Loreli Barling, and Josie Thrift; sisters, Georgianna Hartley and Judy Willingham; brothers, Marion “Buddy” Zirk and James “Woody” Zirk; and a host of nieces and nephews. Joyce had a passion for gardening and a love for animals. Her home, “The Enchanted Cottage”, was seen by many as they traveled down Ashcake Rd. She was a member of the Richmond Rose Society. The family will receive friends from 1-2pm on Friday, January 29, 2016 at Forest Grove United Methodist Church, 13384 Ashland Rd. Ashland, VA 23005; the service will follow at 2pm at the church. Interment will be held in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to the Hanover Humane Society, 12190 Washington Hwy., Ashland, VA 23005 or to Forest Grove UMC.
