Katharine “Katie” Roy Cunningham, 86, died April 20, 2015. She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Imogen Cunningham. She is survived by her sister, Jean Cunningham Salley of Richmond; her nephew, John Salley and Nancy; her nieces, Katy Rosemond and Randy, and Martha Salley. Katharine grew up in Richmond’s Fan District and attended St. Catherine’s School. She was an artist who worked in portraiture and seascapes with a particular fondness for the color turquoise. Katharine worked for years at the Valentine Museum and enjoyed traveling and trips to the beach with family. Her loved ones are most appreciative for the outstanding care she received in her last few years from Hanover Manor and Alpha House in Ashland, and Bon Secours Hospice.
