Lelia Hoge Smith

Lelia Harrison Hoge Smith, 94, of Hewlett, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother passed peacefully on February 12, 2016. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Walton Wickham Smith, Sr. She is survived by her children, Howard Hoge Smith (Bev), Walton Wickham Smith, Jr. (Billie Lynn Tinsley), and Lelia Skipwith Harrison Smith Hardeen (Ted); six grand-children, Timothy F. Smith (Laura), Bryan W. Smith (Reisa), Walton Wickham Smith, III (Heather), William Harrison Smith (Yesim), Lelia Harrison Tinsley Smith, and Teddy B. Hardeen; five great-grandchildren, Brian, Dylan, Ava, Emery and Keely. The family will receive friends on Monday February 15, 2016 from 4:00-7:00 pm at Nelsen Funeral Home, Reid Chapel, 412 S. Washington Highway, Ashland, VA 23005. Lelia was a member of Fork Episcopal Church, 12566 Old Ridge Road, Doswell, VA 23047, where funeral services will be held on Tuesday February 16, 2016 at 11:00 am. Interment will be at the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Fork Church Cemetery Fund or the Hanover County Rescue Squad.
