DICKERSON, Margaret D., 83, of Ashland, died July 27, 2016. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Altamont Dickerson, Jr.; son, Monty Dickerson; daughters, Gale Dickerson and Anne Dickerson; three grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren. Margaret was born in Rockbridge County, VA, and graduated from Fairfield High School. She graduated from Virginia Tech in 1955, and she loved her Hokies! Margaret was a dietician at Mary Washington Hospital in Fredericksburg, VA, and a school teacher at John M. Gandy Elementary School in Ashland. She was an active member of Duncan Memorial United Methodist Church, and volunteered at A.C.E.S. for many, many years. With her quiet demeanor, and a little bit of sassiness thrown in from time to time, she will be greatly missed by her family and friends. A memorial service will be held on August 13, 2016 at 11:00am at Duncan Memorial UMC in Ashland, VA.
