Martha Gray Loving

LOVING, Martha Tilton Gray, 92, passed away peacefully in her sleep on January 5, 2017, after a courageous battle with Alzheimer's. Martha was born in Hanover, Va., on January 29, 1924. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert Butler Gray; her second husband, Herbert L. Loving; her mother and father, Rosa Cauthorne and William Edward Tilton; brother, William Tilton; and sisters, Mary Adams and Margaret Gray. She is survived by her brother, Andrew L. Tilton (Virginia); and many nieces, nephews and stepchildren. The family wishes to express their appreciation for the comfort and care given by caregivers, W.D. Adams and wife, Nancy, the Tapp Family Home and Bon Secours Hospice. The family will receive friends at the Nelsen Funeral Home, Ashland Chapel, from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, January 11, 2017. The funeral service will be held at Mt. Olivet Baptist Church, Beaverdam, at 11 a.m. Thursday, January 12, 2017, with Rev. Dale Ashley officiating. A reception will follow the service. After the reception a private interment will be held at Woodland Cemetery in Ashland. Memorial donations may be made to Mt.
