Michael Duane Ayers

AYERS, Michael D., 61, of Ashland, passed away on July 11, 2017. He was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Doris Ayers. He is survived by his wife, Marcella (Marci) Ayers; children, Matthew Ayers and Makayla Ayers; two grandchildren, Camerin and Kaydance; brother, Jamie Ayers (Phyllis); and two nieces, Erica and Amanda. Michael was a mechanic for many years in the laundry and dry cleaning business. He served in the U.S. Air Force for 13 years and also served in the Army National Guard for four years. A memorial gathering will be held at from 4-6pm, with a reception to follow, on Wednesday, July 19, 2017 at the Nelsen Funeral Home, Reid Chapel, 412 S. Washington Hwy., Ashland, VA 23005.
