Milagros Buenviaje Lorenzo

She was preceded in death by her husband, Federico Sioson Lorenzo, more famously known as Larry Bataan, a professional boxer who held the title of Orient and Pacific Featherweight Champion. Also preceded in death are her parents Felix Salinas Buenviaje and Ricarda Salaw Buenviaje, her siblings, Teofista Buenviaje, Amparo Adevoso, Arturo Buenviaje, Oscar Buenviaje, Delores Sanchez, Gloria Anderson and Felix Buenviaje, Jr.

In addition to taking care of her family, she owned and managed a restaurant in the Philippines. She relinquished that role to care for her father until his passing.

She is survived by her children Susana Roberts, Herminia Hennings, Julieta Overkamp (Chris Gallego), Milagros Lacy (Michael), Federico Lorenzo, Jr. (Beverly Amponin), Felomena Perry (Terrence), and Ernesto Lorenzo.

She is also survived by her grandchildren Roy Roberts (Kim Snell), Marshalle Lorenzo (Angela), Rina Harris, Jennie Overkamp (Greg Bucklew), Brian Lacy (Elizabeth), Gino Hennings, Abby Lorenzo, Christian Lorenzo, Christopher Lacy (Jillian), Regina Brooks, Jeffrey Perry, Michael Perry, and Alexander Perry.

In addition, she is survived by great grandchildren Jaymi Brenneman, SaVion Harris, Alexis Lacy, Acacia Brooks, Lhogann Snell, Asher Lorenzo, Rayna Lorenzo, Christian Harris, Quintyn Brooks, Donovan Harris, Chloe Lacy, Ashton Perry, Nevaeh Harris, Amiya Harris, and Kenzie Cartwright.

Visitation will be held at Nelsen Funeral Home in Ashland, Virginia on Thursday, May 13, 2021 beginning at 12:00 p.m. Service will be at 3:00 p.m. followed by a reception.

Milagros will be lovingly remembered by her resilient strength, unwavering faith, sincere loyalty to family, and her wonderful sense of humor. Milagros means miracle in Spanish and she is definitely our miracle. She will now be our angel looking over us all.
