Mildred Carter Allen “Pill”, 91, of Ashland, passed away October 1, 2014. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Allen. Pill was a nurse at the Eastern Star Nursing Facility and also worked for the American Tobacco Company. She is survived by her niece, Betty Breedlove; great-niece, Cindy Clark; dedicated caregiver, Ivy Benjamin, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and friends. A funeral service will be conducted on Monday, October 6, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at Nelsen Funeral Home- Reid Chapel, 412 S. Washington Highway, Ashland, VA 23005, where the family will receive friends one hour prior to service. Interment will follow in Woodland Cemetery, Ashland, VA.
