Nancy Tignor Harris

Nancy was preceded in death by her husband, William B. Harris Jr.; son, Thomas Wayne Harris; parents, Henry and Alma Tignor; and brothers, Henry Clay Tignor Jr. and Ronald L. Tignor.

She was passionate about childhood education, spending decades volunteering with Hanover County Schools through the Roots and Shoots program and the Reading Olympics. Her commitment to fostering a love for learning in children was unparalleled.

After a fulfilling career in the insurance business, Nancy retired to enjoy her hobbies, particularly gardening. She found immense joy in tending to her plants, and her garden was a testament to her green thumb. Nancy also cherished the time spent with her grandchildren, Nicholas and Kristen, who were the light of her life.

She will be dearly missed by her dogs, Allie and Noah. Nancy's warmth and dedication to her family, friends, and community have left an indelible mark on all who knew her.

Survived by her daughter, Melody H. Harrison (Tom) and grandchildren, Nicholas Harrison and Kristen Harrison (Greg).

A graveside service will begin at 11am on Thursday, June 27, 2024 at Signal Hill Memorial Park, 12360 Hanover Courthouse Rd., Hanover, VA 23069.
