Ellie looked up to Phil like a grandpa. He always included her as one of his own and treated her like a Princess. She adored him as did I, along with so many others. You will be missed beyond all measure. My Condolences to the family. 

So sorry for the passing of Phil.   He was always so much fun.   Great memories of him at the lake and other fun places  with my sister.  He will be missed by all of us.  Prayers to all.

I met Phil the summer of 1979. He was a lifeguard at a lake near our house.  He became instant friends with my sister and I.  We have so many fun memories with him. He was a super sweet and funny guy.  He watched out for us.  I didn't get to see him too often over the years but when we did we picked right back up.  I  will truly miss him.  Prayers sent to all his family .🥰

PHIL WAS A FRIEND TO ALL OF THE ABC PEOPLE AND WOULD BE DESCRIBED AS A COUNTRY GENTLEMEN.   ALWAYS  READY TO GIVE HIS FELLOW AGENTS A HAND NO MATTER WHAT THE TASK WAS.  WE WILL MISS PHILS SMILE AND HIS SAYING OF DON'T GET ME WRONG.  IT WAS SUCH A PLEASURE  TO WORK WITH  PHIL AND TO SEE HIS PROFESSIONAL WAY OF HANDLING   EACH AND EVERY MATTER.

Phil Bowles was one of the first people I met in the Richmond ABC office after transferring from Alexandria.  He had a great sense of humor and was always willing to help with UABs and any thing else a new agent needed.  It is always sad to lose someone so young and so unexpected.  Rest in peace Phil and prayers to the family.

I am in disbelief and my heart is so deeply saddened to hear Phil is gone. He was one of the few good friends I ever had in this life. He was always willing to help a friend and never cared about being recognized for being the best Father, Grandfather and Son I knew. I will truly miss him and always appreciate all he did for me until we meet again. Jim Russell

Phil was truly one of the good guys!  A classmate since Kindergarten and my first real Boyfriend (6th grade).   Phil was one of the nicest people I’ve ever known. It's just so hard to believe that you are gone.  We are so going to miss you. That smile, coming out to mom's eating pound cake with us!

Deeply sorry to read of the sudden passing of Phil. I worked with Phil at the VA. ABC Board for many years in the Richmond, VA main headquarters. I even attended his wedding ceremony to Dee.  Phil was always kind and when he needed assistance, his slogan was, hey, do me a favor.  I can visualize seeing Phil headed to the cafeteria for a large glass of ice tea, his favorite beverage.  My condolences go out to Phil's immediate family and friends  Phil left a treasured memory to all he connected to. Rest in peace, my co-worker and friend. You will be missed.
