IVEY, Richard D., Sr., “Dick”, 85, of Ashland, went to be with the Lord on Monday, June 23, 2014. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Christopher Richard Ivey. He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Lois S. Ivey; a son, Richard D. Ivey, Jr. “Rick” and his wife Joan; a daughter, Myra Weston and her husband Buddy, two grandchildren, Kristen Weston and Mark Ivey and his wife Ginny; and his great granddaughter, Reagan Ivey; nephews, Jimmy Zeigler (Fran) and Mike Zeigler (Renee) and niece, Eloise White; great nephew and nieces; and a great-great niece. Dick was the retired owner and operator of Commonwealth Paving. He was currently a staff member of Nelsen Funeral Home-Ashland and was a member of the Richmond Region AACA and the Old Dominion Model A Ford Club. Dick was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was known for his generosity and sense of humor. He was a longtime active member of First Baptist Church, Ashland, where a visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 25, 2014 from 6-8 pm and where funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, June 26, 2014. Interment will be at Woodland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the Benevolence Fund of First Baptist Church, Ashland, 800 Thompson St., Ashland, VA 23005.
