Ruth Ann Wampler

She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Manuel Eli Wampler, and her brothers, Jack, Charles, and Don Nipper.

Ruth was born in 1935 to the late Rosco and Nellie Nipper. She graduated from Richlands High School and moved to Ashland where she lived for 60 years. She dedicated 30 years to the Virginia Department of Transportation until she retired. Square Dancing was one of many of her hobbies. She also enjoyed traveling, cooking, canning, and taking care of her flowers. In her earlier life, she was a member of the young homemakers Club of Ashland. She loved her friends and family dearly and will be missed by many.

Left to cherish her memory are her son, Michael Scott Wampler, and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm on Wednesday, November 23, 2022, at Nelsen Funeral Home, 412 S. Washington Hwy., Ashland, VA 23005. Entombment will follow at 1:00 pm at Signal Hill Memorial Park, 12360 Hanover Courthouse Rd., Hanover, VA 23069.
