Warriner, Ruth Holmes, 78, of Hanover, passed away on August 17, 2015. She was preceded in death by her parents, Aubrey B. Holmes, Sr. and Dorothy Holmes Lindsey; brother, Aubrey “Buddy” Holmes; and granddaughter, Sissy Warriner. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Wilton “Billy” Warriner, Jr.; children, Donald R. Warriner (Patsy) of Spring Grove, Cindy W. Henderson (Jeff) of Mechanicsville, Susan W. Burton of Aylett, and Randy Warriner (Bonnie) of Glen Allen; 12 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; brother, James E. Holmes (Marian); and sisters, Helen H. Jones and Frances H. Allen. Ruth was a retired cafeteria manager and postal worker. She was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church. Ruth loved to cook, sew, and loved being with her family. The family will receive friends from 6-9pm on Wednesday, August 19, 2015 at the Nelsen Funeral Home-Reid Chapel, 412 S. Washington Hwy., Ashland, VA, where services will be held at 11am on Thursday, August 20, 2015. Interment will be at Mt. Vernon Memorial Park, Glen Allen, VA.
