SWIFT, Brenda Clark, 66, of Beaverdam, went to be with the Lord after a long courageous battle with cancer on Saturday, February 16, 2013. She was preceded in death by her father, Samuel Kent Clark. She is survived by her loving husband of 40 years James W. Swift; her mother, Virginia B. Clark; two daughters, Cheryl Ann Sanders and her husband James Sanders, and Jennifer Clarke and her husband Charles E. Clarke; a beloved granddaughter, Emily Dale Clarke; a sister, Diane Wilmoth; and numerous relatives and friends. She was an employee of the Virginia DMV, where she was employed for 36 years. She was a member of Bethany Christian Church and a former member of Chapel Church of Christ. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, February 19, 2013, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Nelsen Funeral Home, 412 S. Washington Highway, Ashland, Va., where a funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 20, 2013 at 11 a.m. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery, Louisa VA.
