Shelby West Dowdy

DOWDY, Shelby West, This is not an obituary but an announcement of my home going. I lived in my earthly body for almost 75 years. Now I have taken on a new body and am living with Jesus. I am also reunited with my sweet husband, Robert Dowdy. There are family members that I have left behind; my sister-in-law, Anne West, niece, Michelle Scott and her husband, Sonny; great-nephew, Justin Scott; and great-niece, Katelyn Scott. I have also left behind many special friends and relatives. There will be a time of visitation at the Nelsen Funeral Home - Reid Chapel in Ashland, Va., from 6 to 8 p.m. on March 8, 2019. There will be a celebration of my time on this earth with friends and family in the fellowship hall at Riverside Baptist Church in Beaverdam, Va., at 2 p.m. on March 10, 2019. My earthly body will be interred in the cemetery at Riverside Baptist Church. If you surrender your life to Jesus, we will meet again someday in our heavenly home.
