

Dale Edward Peterson
October 18, 1946 – August 11, 2023
It is with great sadness the family of Dale Edward Peterson announces his passing at the age of 76 on August 11, 2023, with family by his side. Dale was born to Roy and Jessie Peterson (nee Watt) on October 18, 1946, at the Assiniboia Union Hospital.
At the age of five, Dale and his family moved to the farm in the Airlie School District, north of Assiniboia. Dale completed his public education at the Airlie District School, continuing to high school at ACHS. Dale met his wife Linda (Johnson) while having coffee at a café in Assiniboia. Dale and Linda married October 16, 1965, at the Messiah Lutheran Church. Dale worked for Bowman Bros. Ltd. (wholesale auto distribution) in Assiniboia. Bowman Bros. transferred Dale to Kindersley, Saskatchewan for two years. The couple returned to Assiniboia in 1968 and he worked with Linda’s parents at Johnson’s Grocery and Meats. Dale worked hard all his life. He found opportunities for himself and his family in Regina, moving there in 1969. Dale worked for MacKenzie Auto in Regina for one year then had a job opportunity with Dumarr Farm Equipment Ltd. as a Territorial Manager. Dale would work for Dumarr for 10 years. During that time Dale and Linda purchased the Peterson Family farm in the Congress District. While working full time as a salesman and raising their family in Regina he and Linda would commute to operate the farm, with the help of his brother, John and his wife Betty.
Dale had a passion for flying and in 1979 he obtained his private pilot licence through the Regina Airport. He enjoyed flying and would often take his family and friends for flights across the province. In 1980, Dale worked for Alteen Distributors (equipment wholesaler) out of Wetaskiwin, Alberta. He was a Territorial manager for the provinces of Saskatchewan and Manitoba. Dale concluded his sales career with his own company, “Dalson” in conjunction with Summer’s Sales and Manufacturing in Regina and Kongskilde. In 1999 he and Linda sold their home in Regina and returned to Assiniboia making farming Dale’s main occupation till his retirement in 2005.
Dale shared a full life with Linda, travelling to Spain, Hawaii, Mexico and the Caribbean. They spent fun times snowmobiling, curling, camping and fishing. Dale enjoyed hunting with his brothers and son. Dale was a very devoted husband, father and grandfather. Dale enjoyed the craft of conversation, surrounding himself with family, friends and neighbours. He will be missed.
Dale was predeceased by his wife of 53 years, Linda (Johnson), parents, Roy and Jessie, brothers Dennis and Melvin and sister Barbara Peterson. Dale will be missed by his children and their families: Cindy Peterson, Pamela (Clint) Engstrom, Greg Peterson (Jan), grandchildren: Corey (Emily) McNeice – Miya and Emersyn, Micheal McNeice (Kim), Jordan Engstrom, Samantha Engstrom, Tyra Peterson, Jayden Mills, and Justus Mills; sister Penny Peterson, brother John (Betty) Peterson, sister-in-law Penny Peterson, brother-in-law Ron Peterson, nieces and nephews.
A graveside service was held for his friends, family and neighbours on Saturday, September 16, 2023 at 4:00 pm at Emmanuel Prairie Gardens, Congress, Saskatchewan with a Celebration of Life to follow at the Engstrom Family Farm.
