

Joe Ferguson Sr. was born on February 7, 1965 to Andrew and Esther Ferguson in Fort Qu’Appelle, SK. He attended school in Wood Mountain, SK., where he graduated then began working in Regina, SK. He was a hardworking man who held many jobs over the years until he moved back home. He was employed seasonally by his band where he would continue his hardwork in helping his community. He was a well known hunter who enjoyed hunting with Ethel and his nephews. He liked to joke around and preferred the simplicity of things. Joe passed away April 5, 2022.
Predeceased by his parents, Andrew and Esther; sisters Sharon and Rosalie, and brother Alfred. He leaves behind his best friend Ethel; his children, son Joe Jr. (Brody); daughters Iris and Sherri (Barry); special grandchild Cherish; as well as his other grandchildren Deondre, Zane, Reign, Aries, Kim, and Milo, sister Lita (Steven) and their daughter Katherine, special cousins Connie and Fred, special nephews Brendon Sr., Brendon Jr., and Avery, as well as many other relatives and friends. He will live on through those he held dearly and will be greatly missed by all.
Wake was held in the Community Center at Wood Mountain Lakota First Nation on Wednesday, April 13, 2022 starting at 5:00 pm. Funeral service followed on Thursday, April 14, 2022 at 11:00 am in the Community Center at Wood Mountain Lakota First Nation.
