It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Linda Mary Feicht (Corman) on Wednesday, May 8, 2013 after a courageous battle with cancer. Mom was born in Assiniboia, Saskatchewan on June 29, 1951 and grew up on the family farm in the Davyroyd community. She graduated from the Assiniboia High School in 1968. As a young girl she enjoyed softball, reading and helping in the kitchen. After high school mom moved to Regina to attend the University of Regina, acquiring her teaching degree. Upon graduating university mom moved home to the farm. Shortly after she married James Feicht and moved to Flin Flon, Manitoba. She took her first teaching job in Flin Flon, teaching grade one. In the mid 70’s my parents moved back to Assiniboia and not long after had their first child Karrie Lyn on June 15, 1976. They purchased their first home in 1979 on Kasper Crescent. On July 31, 1985 they welcomed their second child Kraig Thomas. During her time is Assiniboia, mom worked various jobs including: the Co-op, the Bank of Montreal and Assiniboia Farm Consulting. During the summer of 1989, my parents separated and mom moved to Regina. Kraig and I have many fond memories of our time with her when we were younger: walks up the back road at the farm, gardening and pool in the basement to name a few. Mom lived in Regina for 13 years, but it was never really her home. In 2001 mom made life changing decisions. These decisions lead her to one final move ---- in the fall of 2003 mom moved to Rockglen, Sask to be closer to her family. Mom helped Dean and I manage the rink that year. She loved the rink, spending many hours volunteering at the Grandchildren’s hockey games over the years; you’d find her serving coffee, working the gate or selling 50/50 tickets. Later that year, she became the local independent Meals on Wheels cook. Mom formed wonderful friendships with the people she cooked for. Every second Monday, mom cooked a community meal for the residents of The Rolling Hills Lodge and community members. Mom loved her job! She did it with great pride and care. Mom enjoyed cooking, her flowers, reading and spending time with family and friends. Mom loved sports; the Riders were her team – she was just as big a fan at home as she was in the stands. She watched football, baseball, curling and hockey. In the fall of 2011 mom was diagnosed with lung cancer. Her positive outlook and determination was nothing short of inspiring during her battle. Mom was a wonderful, caring, hardworking, warm hearted woman who will be dearly missed by all of us. Linda is survived by her daughter Karrie Lyn (Dean) and son Kraig, her mother Ethel, sisters Jean (Glen) Thompson, Fern (Bob) Walls, Lorna (Butch) Dawson, brother Ron (Joanne) Corman, four grandchildren Ashley, Tyde, Colby and Toryn, numerous nieces, nephews, aunts and cousins. Linda was predeceased by her father Harold Corman and her sister Wendy Feicht (Corman). Funeral Service was held at Ross Funeral Chapel, on May 13, 2012 with Reverend Marilyn Leuty officiating. Tribute was given by her daughter Karrie Lyn. Urn bearer was her son Kraig. Family gathered with relatives and friends at the Kinsmen Centre, Interment followed at Davyroyd Cemetery. In Memory of Linda, donations may be made to the Sask. Cancer Agency - Regina Cancer Patient Lodge. Arrangements entrusted to Ross Funeral Service, Assiniboia, SK.
