March 19, 1957 - August 29, 2022
Linda Ann Marie Heuston (Coroy) was born on March 19, 1957 to Augustine and Lillian Coroy in Kitimat, BC. In that time, her father was working at the smelter to eventually save enough money to move back to the Coroy family farm to raise his family in Marcelin, SK. Linda grew up and attended school in Marcelin. Linda was always a farm girl through and through helping her parents with chores and always the first to go visit her father in the field with a quart of milk and bag of cookies in hand. When Linda was 17, she set out for a life of her own in Saskatoon, and eventually Calgary. In 1977 and 1979, Linda had her two children Kelly and Christopher, respectively. In 1984, Linda met the love of her life, Scott, in a hay shed Creston, BC. Scott’s gruff “What the f*ck do you want?” Was evenly matched by Linda’s sassy 100lb rebuttal of asking the exact same question back to him, and well the rest is history. Scott & Linda decided to commit to “Walk of Life” in 1988 when they got married at their farm in Creston with their closest family nearby, while they were carrying out the beginning of their farming and ranching dream. During this time, Linda became infatuated with the Kootenay lifestyle of fishing for big Rainbow Trout, water skiing, and soaking in that beautiful Kootenay Lake with friends and family between harvest and haying in the valley. Her love to be near or on a body of water was her idea of total contentment and peace on earth. In 1994, they welcomed Courtney into their lives with open arms. In 2001 after expert opinions of moving their cattle herd to some drier climate and out of Creston Valley, Scott and Linda decided to make the unconventional choice to move out east to Rockglen, Saskatchewan to raise their infamous single iron (-CC) commercial black angus cows with the red ear tags. Linda was not your typical rancher’s wife because she was a rancher herself. She could often be found in her brown half-ton Chevrolet truck (or as she lovingly referred to her as “Brown Betty”) enticing cows to come home with pellets, running errands for the ranch in town in her dirty coveralls, and all in stride with her husband. She was the purest form of kindness with her work boots on. Linda was so much more than a wife, a mother, a sister, and a daughter - she was the light of her family’s life and the warmth of her heart was felt by everyone she met. Linda always attested that her greatest accomplishment in life was her children and being surround by their love.
In a journal, entry of Linda’s earlier this year she boasted that, “myself, I am proud to be a rancher, a standard in the cattle industry, a mother, a wife, and so proud of my children and who they are today. Love you to the moon and back.”
Linda passed away at her residence on August 29, 2022 at the age of 65.
Linda is survived by her loving husband, Scott Heuston; daughter Courtney Heuston, and son Christopher Balde; three grandchildren: Dalyn, Darrel, and Lillian.
