Linda Jean Perrier

On Thursday, October 18, 2012, Linda Jean Perrier passed peacefully into God’s arms after suffering a massive stroke. She was born, March 16, 1960, to Walter and Irene (nee Wood) Perrier, and raised in Assiniboia, SK. After high school she attended Wascana Institute of Applied Arts and Sciences (SIAST) in Regina, SK to study Health Record Administration. Upon graduation she started working at St. Paul’s Hospital in Saskatoon where she worked for 30 years in the medical records department in various positions. During her time there she served on the St. Paul’s Hospital Personnel Association for over 15 years in many roles including president. She also was on the board of the Saskatchewan Health Information Management Association and served as secretary, treasurer and two terms as president.

Linda enjoyed life. She loved to travel and spend time with her family and friends. She never missed a holiday, birthday, or special event. Everyone loved “Auntie Linda”. She was a kind and generous person, always ready to help, and put others first. She was always up for an adventure and travelled to many places including Great Britain, Mexico, the Caribbean, and Hawaii with family or friends. She loved her flowers and loved animals, especially cats. Her social calendar was always full with concerts and plays, hosting home parties such as Tupperware, and, in recent years, events with the Red Hat Society. She loved having visitors and made sure they signed her guest book before leaving. At Christmas time Linda always stopped in at her extended “families” to visit and drop off gifts and baking as she travelled home to Assiniboia.

Linda will be greatly missed by her family and many friends. She was predeceased by her mother, Irene (2003). She is survived by her father, Walter; sister, Gail (Vernon) Jacobs; niece, Christina (Shawn) Worthing; nephew, Taylor Jacobs (fiancée Stefanny Hassel); and various aunts, uncles and cousins. She also leaves behind many loyal friends with families to whom she was “Auntie Linda”.

She lived life to the fullest. She laughed until she cried. She was full of love. We love you Linda.

Funeral Service was held Friday, October 26, 2012 at the Dominion Road Baptist Church, Assiniboia, SK. Pastor Lionel Moffat officiated. Tributes were given by Vern Jacobs and Stefanny Hassel. Readers were Christina & Shawn Worthing. Music Ministry led by, pianist, Barbara Bergeron and Duet by Taylor Jacobs and Shawn Worthing. Donations in Memory of Linda may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Saskatchewan or to the St. Paul’s Hospital Foundation Inc.
