Margaret Jeanie Currie

We are saddened to announce the passing of Margaret Currie of Mossbank, SK, on February 1, 2012. Predeceased by her parents, James and Margaret (Fordyce) Coghill, husband Jim, daughter Sandra, and three brothers; Margaret leaves behind her children: Heather (Clarence) Maffenbeier of Assiniboia, Margaret Ann Ferguson (Ross deceased) of Mossbank, Dennis (Debbie) Currie of Pincher Creek, Bonnie (Ray) Burbee of Regina and Charlene Paschinski of Red Deer and their families, one sister, three brothers as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Margaret was born October 20, 1924 on the family farm near Congress, SK and attended Dunning School.

Margaret married James Currie on February 14, 1946 in Kitchener, ON, upon his return from the army. They returned to Saskatchewan and bought a farm east of Vantage, SK. Margaret and Jim raised their family of five girls and one boy on the farm until 1974 when they moved to Mossbank, but still continued to farm until retirement.

A private family service was held at 1:00 PM followed by a CELEBRATION OF MARGARET’S LIFE at 2:00 PM, at the Cornerstone Associated Gospel Church, Mossbank, SK. Wendy Gibson officiated. Interment in Mossbank Cemetery. Donations in Memory of Margaret may be made to the Children’s Wish Foundation. Arrangements entrusted to Ross Funeral Service, Assiniboia, SK.
