It is with great sorrow and sadness that the family of Martin Arne Wrolson, age 79, announces his passing on September 14, 2013 at the Coronach Health Centre. Martin was born on June 10, 1934 in Coronach, the only son of Gustave and Anne Wrolson. He attended grade school at Mountain Cedar, Hart and high school at Outlook. After grade 10, he missed the farm so he went home to help his Dad farm. He met the love of his life, Eileen Greenwood and they were married on October 29, 1955. After they were married, they lived in Coronach and Martin worked at Gerald Frederick's garage learning the art of mechanics. They moved a house to the same farm yard as his Dad. As the family grew, additions were added to the house. During the winter months, you would always find Dad on a snow plow opening the roads. There was never a snow day for the kids. Martin loved to skidoo and he had one of the first in the area. His passion in life was farming whether he would be in the field or out in the garden looking for the first asparagus shoots in the spring. He loved the land; he would never complain just always make do. Harvest time was his favorite season of the year. His combining was done when all the neighbours had their grain in the bin. He was a dedicated "Massey Man" all his farming years. The last combine he owned was still a "Massey." He was proud that all five of his children followed his passion for farming. He was an avid hunter and the many pounds of sausage he made and smoked was always done to perfection. He was a fighter and never gave up on anything. When he put his mind to it he could make it happen. He was very mechanically inclined and could fix anything; he loved the challenge of figuring out the problem. He was always willing to help anyone who needed it. His favourite sayings were "What goes around comes around", "Same to you" or "Back at ya." Dad loved to travel and the many cruises they enjoyed took them to exotic destinations such as Alaska, the Caribbean, Hawaii, and visits to Norway to visit family. Martin was predeceased by his wife Eileen (March 2013) after 57 and a half years of marriage, grandson Kelsey Wrolson, his parents Gustave and Anne Wrolson, his father and mother-in-law Harold and Reta Greenwood, his brothers-in-law Don Kupper, Elmer and Melvin Greenwood. He will be greatly missed by his children: Maureen (Neil) Montgomery, Patsy (Ron) Thorhaug, Cheryl (Rick) Lesperance, Brian (Carmen) Wrolson, and Bryce (Monique) Wrolson; 18 grandchildren: Sheila (Neil) Berner, Lorna (Curt), Darryl (Laura) Montgomery, Danny Montgomery, Candace (Bert) Leake, Craig (Claudette) Thorhaug, Audrey (Ryan) Thorhaug, Emma (Craig) Thorhaug, Russell (Lisa), Joel (Jenn), Brandon, Katie and Drew Lesperance, Jase Wrolson, Hayden, Danesha and Taylem Wrolson; 10 great-grandchildren: Evan Montgomery, Colton, Easton and Pierson Berner, Bryn and Nolan Montgomery, Cailyn, Elayna and Grady Leake, and Gavin Thorhaug. Martin is also survived by his sisters Synnova (Doug) Colvin, Christine (Bernard) Merrien, Eleanor Kupper; sisters and brother-in-law: Alice (Bob) McGee, Allan (Vivian) Greenwood, Judy Greenwood, many nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
