

Shirley was born July 7, 1955 at the Rockglen Union Hospital and she graduated into the arms of her Savior, Jesus Christ on May 2, 2023 at the Regina General Hospital. Shirley Wotherspoon (nee Brenner) was predeceased by parents, Roe and Laura Brenner of Fife Lake, brother Don Brenner (April 2023) and her first husband, Terry Cronan. She is survived by her husband David Wotherspoon, three sons, Cory Cronan, Jamey Cronan, Robin (Tammy) Cronan, and four grandchildren, Ryan, Kaydance, Brayden and Nevaeh. Shirley holds a very special place in many hearts. Shirley and Terry knew each other growing up and lived in Coronach after they married where she worked at the Sask Power plant as a security guard. In 1998, Shirley and family moved to Assiniboia where Shirley worked at several local restaurants. She then moved to Estevan in 2003 and lived there for 3 years before moving to Moose Jaw. During her time in Moose Jaw, Shirley worked at Wayne & Laverne’s and Smitty’s in the Town and Country Mall along with her son, Robin. Shirley was a very hardworking person, she always did her job with excellence and pride. After a few years, she moved back to Assiniboia and purchased a house. Shirley found work at Subway where she worked for the last ten years before retiring at the age of 65 in 2020. In 2019, Shirley’s health had taken a turn for the worse and her work career came to a halt. Shirley met Dave Wotherspoon and they were married in December of 2018. Shirley loved her family and especially her grandchildren. She loved spending time with them and looked forward to getting away and going camping with them on weekends or holidays. Shirley took pride in her home and enjoyed repainting and remodeling the house with Dave. She loved to collect angels, and received most of her collection from family which she would proudly display. Shirley loved to play bingo and would often pick up elderly ladies needing a ride. She was very open-minded and caring, she would open her home to anyone in need, always going the extra mile. Shirley was a member of the Assiniboia Apostolic Church, she will be greatly missed for her smile, her laugh, the great conversations and her friendship. A Celebration of Shirley’s Life was held on Sunday, May 21, 2023 at 1:30 pm at the Assiniboia Apostolic Church, Assiniboia, SK. Pastor David Mehrer officiated. The eulogy was presented by Lise Erdahl, Jackie Dayman and Derek Cloutier; music was provided by Linda Poirier. Urn Bearer was Tyrel Cronan, with interment at Christ the King Roman Catholic Cemetery, Fife Lake, SK. Donations in memory of Shirley may be made to the Sask. Heart & Stroke Foundation.
