Joan Stayton Mauss 1928 - 2017 Atascadero, California Joan S. Mauss, a resident of Atascadero, Ca., passed away peacefully at the age of 89. Born in Iowa to G.Fred Stayton and Blanche E. Stayton, moved to Santa Monica as a young girl and later raised her family in Playa Del Rey. Preceded in death by Edward Mauss; devoted husband of 50 years, John Luther Stayton; brother, Edward A. Mauss; son, Jeffrey A.Davidson and Jason Mauss; grandchildren. Joan was a kind and endearing person. She had a personality that made you smile. As a member of the Tri-Counties Boat and Ski Club for over 57 years, they called her “Jo”. She loved all living creature and volunteered at the Humane Society. Jo lived a full, extremely entertaining and wonderful life. Joan is survived by her daughter, Dana L Davidson of Atascadero and her husband Robert L Davidson; her Grandchildren, Russell L Davidson of San Luis Obispo; Joshua E. Mauss and his wife Nicole and their two children; and Andrew Mauss of Utah.
