Manuel Trinidad Sosa went to meet his Lord on September 8, 2014. He was born on October 27, 1934 in Santa Maria CA. He is survived by his beloved wife Victoria C. Sosa and daughter Trudy G. Zam. Other family survivors are his brother John P. Sosa, from Honolulu Hawaii, two sisters Gerry and Rachel Sosa from Paso Robles, as well as various nieces, nephews and cousins all of whom live on the Central Coast.
Manuel attended and graduated from Paso Robles High School and immediately after graduation he joined the Army National Guard where he served for two years before joining the United States Air Force. He was stationed at military bases in Japan, San Bernardino, Travis, Oxnard and Vandenberg Air Force Base. He also served two tours of Vietnam. Master Sergeant Manuel T. Sosa retired after 25 years of service to his country. He was a very strong supporter of the US Military services and strongly believed in his country. He loved his God, Family and Country. After his military retirement he worked for the California Youth Authority in Paso Robles for 20+ years. As an extension of his duties he voluntarily mentored many of the young men assigned to the facility and also assisted young co-workers. He always took great pride in helping others gain a positive direction to their lives.
He was very active in his church community. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and volunteered for all fund-raisers including but not limited to cooking for El Dia de la Virgen De Guadalupe. He donated to the Boy Scouts of America and the local VFW and was a member of the Moose Lodge.
Apart from being a very strong family man, Manuel loved to garden accompanied by his beloved Victoria. Trees, plants and flowers flourished under his touch and his backyard is a testament to the zen of the soul.
