Robert “Robin” John Moore was a caring, hard-working and loving husband, dad, papa, brother, and friend. He left this world after a battle with brain cancer (which he fought like hell) on December 26, 2021, at age 69.
He was born to J.E. and Betty Moore on May 11, 1952. He married his wife, Shelley (Brinar) Moore, on September 22, 1973. Together, they had two children; Kathleen and Debbie (Sam), who blessed them with two granddaughters, Hailey and Rori. A select few of us got to call him dad or papa, but many knew him as a friend.
Robin loved cooking and gathering with friends and always enjoyed feeding a crowd. He enjoyed helping his son-in-law Sam and granddaughter Rori at all the sand drags. He even tried to convince them they would win because he fed the race officials breakfast burritos. He enjoyed hearing about the adventurous endeavors of Kathleen and Hailey. Their adventurous spirit was inherited from Dad. Hailey even found him out in the desert, driving his razor on one of her many road trips. He and Shelley enjoyed their weekends at the cabin, and always hoped to get rained in.
He loved his work/business (Moore’s Tractor Service) and taking care of his customers and treated them like family. His generous heart sometimes led him to work for payment in the form of an apple pie. It never seemed like work to him, because of all the friendships he gained along the way.
He enjoyed all the friendships he has created over the years being at the Elks Lodge, VFW, and Tri-Counties Club at Lake Nacimiento or on a job. He was the man that was always there to help a person in need. He was hardworking, honest with a great sense of humor. He tried hard to be “grumpy” but was the first person to offer someone a helping hand. His generosity and “grumpy” love will be missed by all.
A celebration of life will be held at Santa Margarita Park on Saturday, May 7th at Noon. This would have been the celebration for Dads 70th Birthday. Please come and share your memories and have a good time like Dad would have wanted.
