Rosary Evelyn “Roe” Hazelwood, born, raised, and married in Los Banos, CA, has departed to be with the Lord on January 24, 2018. She was born on July 12, 1923 to the late Raphael and Catherine Gargano.
Roe was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Donald, and her brothers, Pasquale (and his late wife Luarley) and Domenic (survived by his wife Geraldine). She is survived by her son, Scott (and his wife Rachael), and her grandchildren James and David.
Roe lived in California her entire life and worked as a beautician for over 30 years, showing a tremendous devotion to caring for elderly people. In retirement, she loved to lawn bowl and enjoyed traveling and vacationing on cruise liners.
A funeral service will be held at St. Clement Catholic Church, 750 Calhoun St., Hayward, CA 94544, on February 12, 2018, at 10:30am. A committal ceremony will follow immediately after the service at Holy Sepulcher Cemetery, 26320 Mission Blvd., Hayward, CA 94544. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Roe’s name to the Sisters of the Holy Names, P.O. Box 907, Los Gatos, California 95031.
