James Edward Springer

The funeral service for James Edward Springer, age 76, of McDonough, GA, and formerly of Elkton Road in Athens will be Sunday, July 10, 2011 at 1 p.m. at McConnell Memorial Chapel with Bro. Mike Green officiating. Burial will be in Limestone Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be Saturday, July 09, 2011 from 6-8 p.m. at McConnell Funeral Home.

Mr. Springer passed away Thursday, July 6, 2011 at Eastside Medical Center in Snellville, GA .

James Edward Springer was born August 5, 1934 in Rogersville, AL to Gilbert Springer and Leona Collier Springer. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and always had a vegetable garden. He retired from Sunbeam Bakery in Athens.

He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Melissa Harvey, son Ronnie Springer, brother Roy Springer, and sister Nadine Meador.

Mr. Springer is survived by his wife of 59 years Mildred Springer; sons David Springer and Brian Springer; grandchildren Nicholas Harvey, Heather Springer, John Springer, Amy Springer, Haley Springer, Cole Springer, Blake Springer, and Dash Springer; great-grandson Mason Harvey; brother Ray Springer; and sisters Judy Meadows and Dean Lash.

Pallbearers will be Clarence Cramer, Michael Springer, Rodney Springer, Roger Eddie, Nicholas Harvey and Jerry Roberts.
