John Wesley GreenHaw, age 63 of Athens, died Sunday, August 4, 2013 at Athens Limestone Hospital. The visitation and memorial service will both be Wednesday, August 7, 2013 at McConnell Funeral Home. The visitation will begin at 10 p.m. and the funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m.
Mr. GreenHaw was born September 19, 1949 in Athens, Alabama to Weaver Dupree GreenHaw and Stella Edna Smith GreenHaw. He was a radio DJ for WJMW for 5 years, Worked at Dubs Burgers with all his family and he worked as a state trooper for 32.5 years. He is preceded in death by his three sisters Barbra Lipham, Jean Sharp, and Jane Patterson; one brother Robert Dexter GreenHaw.
Survivors include one son, Joseph Shane GreenHaw; one granddaughter, Crystal Mia GreenHaw; mother Edna GreenHaw; and several nieces and nephews and a lot of friends.
