Mr. Benitez was born to Jose and Mercedes Carattini Benitez on February 1, 1938 in Puerto Rico.
He is preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Irma DeJesus.
Survivors include his wife Mary Ann Benitez; sons John Benitez (Maria), Joseph Benitez, and Jeffery Benitez; step-son Michael Shelley (Linda); daughter Beth Benitez; step-daughter Dianne Wysong (Greg); grandchildren Tashell Dowdell, Jacob Mitchell, Brooke Sine, Brandon Sine and great-grandchildren Zachary, Star, and Snoh.
Mr. Benitez was a loving husband, grandfather and great- grandfather. He retired from the Puerto Rican government as an Industrial representative. He was a member of the Lehigh Astronomy Club in Pennsylvania, Lions Club member and treasurer, and an Army veteran.
No services are planned for Mr. Benitez at this time.
