Kimberly "Dee Dee" Deon Hopkins

Mrs. Hopkins was born October 19, 1968 in Athens, AL to Thomas Kent Gooch and Carol Nash Stark. She is preceded in death by her father.

Survivors include her loving husband, Don; four daughters Kelsey Casteel (Alex), Chloe Hopkins, Carly Hopkins and Kara Hopkins, brother Stephen Gooch (Valerie); sisters Christy Elders (Shane) and Savannah Stark; mother Carol Stark and step-father Burl Stark; nieces and nephews Kayela Elders, Ethan Elders, Victor Owens (Rebecca), Victoria Southard (Brandon), Everly Thomas, Paisley Thomas; and great nephews Kylan Elders, Spencer, Parker and Tucker Owens.

She was blessed to be a mother to four wonderful daughters and enjoyed spending as much time with them as possible. As an instructional aide for special education at Sugar Creek Elementary School she loved her job and the time she was able to spend with each child. Known for her kindness and generosity, not a day went by when she was not a blessing to someone. She loved spending time soaking up the beauty of nature or adding to it with her gardening.

Services will be held Saturday, December 13, 2025, at McConnell Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 12-2 pm. A service in her honor will follow at 2pm. Burial will be at Johnson Cemetery #4.
