Visitation is from 6-9 tonight at McConnell Funeral Home.
He died Sunday, Aug. 14, 2011.
Larry Marks was born Sept. 24, 1940, in Florence to Hollis and Sibyl Marks. Larry was retired from the petroleum business after 35 successful years. He was an avid lover of the outdoors who thoroughly enjoyed motorcycle riding.
He was preceded in death by his father, Hollis Marks.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Marks of Athens; son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Sharon Marks of Athens; daughters and sons-in-law, Betsy and Chris Ray of Huntsville, and Whitney and Justin Gallaway of Rock Springs, Ga.; daughter, Helen Marks of Cullman; mother, Sibyl Marks of Florence; brother, Jerry Marks of Spring, Texas; and seven grandchildren, Dylan Ray, Shelby Marks, Landon Ray, Connor Ray, Corbin Stueve, Colt Gallaway and Jordyn Gallaway.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Celebrate Recovery in care of Decatur Baptist Church.
