Mabel Ruth Prince

Visitation is from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Monday at the church.

Mrs. Prince died Friday, June 15, 2012, at home.

Mabel Prince was born July 20, 1927, in Braggadocio, Mo., to William Henley and Lillie Frances Terrell Creel. She was a registered nurse who worked in various hospitals and in home health care, was involved with Learn to Read, CASA and HUGS.

She was very active in her church, First Baptist Church of Athens, with Children’s Ministry, Youth Ministry, Young Adult Ministry, missions organizations, Historical Committee, and We Bear Love Ministry, among others.

Her hobbies included reading, gardening, scrapbooking and spending time with family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband of 42 years, Carl Prince.

Her survivors include sons, Charles William Prince and wife Hyacinth of Birmingham, Thomas Gene Prince and wife Karen of Atlanta, and Joseph Carl Prince and wife Sharon of Madison; daughter, Barbara Leigh Prince Fleace and husband Timothy of Sullivan, Ind.; brother, Connie Gene Creel; sister, Norma Lee Creel; grandchildren, Robby, Katie and Charlie Prince; Eric and Rebekah Prince; Kristen Brasher; Matthew, Hannah and Eli Fleace; Rose, Lily and Iris Prince; step-grandchild, Daniel Guevara; and great-grandchildren, Ivy Guevara, Francesca Guevara, David Guevara, Josh Afroozi, Brandon Afroozi, Lucy Quinn Prince.

Pallbearers are Robby Prince, Eric Prince, Matthew Fleace, Eli Fleace, Clay Brasher and Greg Hammond.
