Funeral service for Owen Lee Bloodworth, age 80 of Athens, will be Monday, January 5, 2015 at 2 p.m. at McConnell Funeral Home with Rev. Donald Terry officiating. Visitation will be Sunday from 5-9 p.m. Burial will be in Poplar Creek Cemetery.
Mr. Bloodworth died Friday at his residence. He was born June 23, 1934 in Limestone County to Grover Lee Bloodworth and Dile Shoemaker.
He is preceded in death by his parents, wife of 52 years, Dorothy Bloodworth, Brother, Lawrence Bloodworth, and sister, Reba Thomas.
Mr. Bloodworth is survived by one son, Timothy O. Bloodworth of Athens; one daughter, Sherry L. Adams and husband, Gerald of Athens; one brother, Harry Bloodworth of Athens; four grandchildren, Bethany Johnson, Tarra Ritter, Shain Haggadone, and Timothy O. Bloodworth II; 6 great-grandchildren.
