The graveside service for Sara Moore Magnusson, 85, of Athens will be Thursday, July 8 at 2 p.m. at Roselawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12 – 2 p.m. Thursday at McConnell Funeral Home.
Mrs. Magnusson passed away Monday, July 5, 2010 at her residence.
Sara Louise Moore was born July 1, 1925 in Athens, AL to Rube and Tula Wales Moore. She was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church.
Mrs. Magnusson was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 43 years, E.J. Magnusson; sisters Frances Moore Marks and Katherine Moore Cooper; brother John Wesley Moore; and nephew John D. Moore.
She is survived by nieces Linda Marks Streeter, Marianna Moore McNairy, Allison Moore White, Pam Whitaker Harris; and nephews David Marks, Perry Cooper, Joe Moore, and Pat Whitaker.
Pallbearers will be David Marks, Bud Streeter, Perry Cooper, Joe Moore, Pat Whitaker, and Joey Smith. Honorary Pallbearer will be John Irvin.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations to be made to Hospice Family Care of Huntsville.
