
She professed faith in Christ at an early age and devoted most of her life to music ministry. She was a gifted church pianist for First Baptist Churches at Athens, Columbiana, Hanceville and Elkmont United Methodist, where she played until she was 82. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Athens, where she served as the church secretary during the mid-1960s.
Her home was continuously filled with much laughter, beautiful music, and good food that she lovingly prepared. As a faithful and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, she inspired many lives.
She leaves to cherish her memories, her husband of 71 years, Leon B. Wallace of Athens; four children, Susan Ann Wallace Glaze and husband Joel of Athens, John L. Wallace of Athens, Joe Wallace and wife Angela of Ocala, Fla., Jerry M. Wallace and wife Deborah of Hanceville; nine grandchildren, Suzanne Glaze Hawkins and husband Johnny, Jeff Glaze and wife Patsy, Michael Glaze, Gidge Glaze Black and husband Brody, April Wallace Nunn and husband Jim, Tim Wallace and wife Veronica, Trent Wallace, Amanda Wallace and husband Harley, and Richard Wallace; 17 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her siblings; one child, Leon Michael Wallace; and two grandchildren, John Michael Wallace and John Scott Wallace.

Pallbearers will be Jeff Glaze, Michael Glaze, Tim Wallace, Richard Wallace, Johnny Hawkins and Brody Black.
Honorary pallbearers are Harley Gordon and Jim Nunn.
Visitation is at 1 p.m. Wednesday with the funeral to follow at 2 p.m. at Athens First Baptist Church Chapel, with Joe Teal officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery.
