Visitation will be Saturday, January 7, 2017 from 6-9 p.m. at McConnell Funeral Home.

Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery.

Mrs. Etheredge passed away Thursday January 5, 2017 at her residence.

She was born November 14, 1934 in Lawrence County, AL to James Albert Borden and Ora Mae Borden. She was a loving lifelong caregiver tor her precious son Tony. She was a faithful Christian member of First Union Baptist Church.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Melvin Etheredge, five brothers Herschel Borden, Jerry Borden, Junior Borden, and two infant brothers, six sisters Mavis Naylor, Mildred Frost, Cathy Hatcher, Opal Horton, Evelyn Pierce, Elease Tanksley, and one grandson Cole Smith.

She is survived by her son Tony Etheredge of Athens; Debbie Rose and husband Mark of Athens; Angie Gaddis of Scottsboro; and Missy Smith and husband Brad of Lester; one brother Bud Borden of Moulton; and one sister Ann Murphree of Moulton; six grandchildren Dana Rose Steagall and husband Justin, Austin Gaddis, Emilee Smith, Macy Rose, Clay Gaddis, and Easton Smith.

Pallbearers will be Austin Gaddis, Clay Gaddis, Easton Smith, Justin Steagall, Steve Borden, and Ronnie Naylor.
