The graveside service for Thelma Blackwell Copeland of Athens will be Monday, March 14, 2011 at 4 p.m. at Roselawn Cemetery in Decatur with Chaplain Keith Lorick officiating.
Mrs. Copeland died Saturday, March 12, 2011 at her home.
Mrs. Copeland was born May 31, 1938 in Limestone County to Samuel Blackwell and Loretta Vinson Blackwell. She was a china painter and teacher. She loved arts and crafts, and she loved her family. She sang for years in the church choir.
She is survived by her husband Ralph of 54 years, one daughter, Karen Weaver, one grandchild, John Robbins and wife Samantha, three step-grandchildren, Lisa Weaver, Dianne Wood and husband Bern, Cynthia Stilwell and husband Brian, two brothers, Samuel Blackwell and William Dan Blackwell, one sister, Glena Fay Blackwell, six great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Bern Wood, Brian Stilwell, Todd Ponder, Trevan Townsend, Joe Townsend, and Sydney Blackwell.
