

William Donald Finley, age 82 of Athens passed away Tuesday February 1st, 2022 at his residence. Mr. Finley was born April 26th, 1939 in Madison County Alabama to William Cecil Finley and Flossie Miller Finley.
Mr. Finley is preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 56 years Patricia Finley, sisters Marie Clark and Glenda Moore.
Visitation will be Thursday February 3rd from 6-8pm at McConnell Funeral Home. Mr. Finley will lie in state Friday February 4th from 10-11am at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church, with a service to follow in the church. Dr. Juaken Dumas and Bro. Robert Clark will be officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Pisgah Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Chase Hargrove, Mike Newby, Gary Wiley, Micheal Clark, Matthew Clark, and Randy Townsend.
Mr. Finley is survived by his wife Cynthia Finley; daughter Donna Hargrove (Randy); step-son Kevin Pate; step-daughter Kelli Morgenweck (Garrick); brother-in-law Charles Webb; sister Caroline Wear of FL; sisters-in-law Ande Swan (Thomas) and Kathy Burrows (Wayne); grandchildren Chase Hargrove (Rachel) and Anna Hargrove; step-grandchildren Addison Morgenweck, Kendal Morgenweck, and Aubrey Morgenweck; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Finley proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. He was also a devoted member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church for 73 years. Mr. Finley retired from Delphi after 25 years. He was known to many to be a mischievous person, and loved making others laugh.
