Winston Smith Morris

The funeral service for Mr. Winston Smith Morris, age 90, of Elkmont, AL will be Thursday November 17, 2011 at 3 p.m. at McConnell Memorial Chapel with Steve Ferguson officiating. Burial will be in Antioch Cemetery.

Visitation will be Thursday, November 17, 2011 from 1-3 p.m. at McConnell Funeral Home.

Mr. Morris passed away, November 14, 2011 at Huntsville Hospital. He was born March 1, 1921 in Limestone County, AL to John Dee Morris and Laura Elizabeth Smith Morris. Mr. Morris was a member of Elkmont Church of Christ. He was a veteran of WWII, member of the Elkmont Lions Club, participant of WWII veteran Honor Flight, enjoyed cattle farming and spent many years working in family owned cotton gin. He was longtime caretaker of Antioch Cemetery.

He was preceded in death by his Parents; and his wife, Doris Marks Morris.

Mr. Morris is survived by his son John W. Morris and wife Donna of Elkmont, AL ; daughter Amelia Smith and husband Lester of Elkmont, AL ; four grandchildren; Jay Smith; Wyn Smith; Laura Morris; Will Morris; and special friend Betty Dubois

Pallbearers will be Jay Smith, Wyn Smith, Will Morris, Tom Carter, Dickie Hobbs, Wade Bates.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Don Wingard, Lester Anderson
