Anne Gentry Gill

A native of Athens, Mrs. Gill was a daughter of the late Allen Pascal Gentry and Karl Ophelia Faust Gentry. She was a graduate of the Class of 1952 from St. Luke’s Hospital School of Nursing in Jacksonville, FL and worked as an operating room nurse at St. Luke’s Hospital, with Dr. David Boher’s office and Livingston Plant in Jacksonville. Mrs. Gill retired as a nurse with Jupiter Hospital in Jupiter, FL and was a member of Colbert United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Joe H. Gill of Colbert; children, Joe “Buster” Gill Jr. of Albemarle, NC and Sheila (Greg) Magrum of Colbert; sisters, Patsy Allen of Danielsville and Millie Hart of Colbert; grandchildren, Jo Lynn (David) Howell, Kelly (Daniel) Bakkar, Angela Magrum and Gregory Magrum; great-grandchildren, July Howell and Violet Howell; very special caregivers, Ida Campbell, Yonda Davenport and Rachel McGee.

Funeral services will be held Monday, November 2 at 11 a.m. at the chapel of Bernstein Funeral Home with Pastors Kathy Brockman and Hugh Hendrickson officiating. Interment will follow at Colbert City Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Sunday, November 1 from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
