Born in Athens, April was the daughter of Rita Edwards Dawson of Athens and the late James Lee Lyon Jr. She worked as a pet groomer and loved making jewelry, music and her pets.
Survivors, in addition to her mother, include children: Tyler Lyon, Ricky Hamilton, Oakley Barton, Heather Barton and Dakota Chandler; sisters: Lisa Lyon and Melissa Lyon Fulcher; one grandchild on the way.
A gathering of family and friends for April will be held Sunday, October 1, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Bernstein Funeral Home, 3195 Atlanta Hwy, Athens, Georgia 30606, followed by a a memorial service at 2:00 PM.
